Vermont State Housing Authority (VSHA) will be opening its waiting list to families who qualify for the Disaster Preference beginning on October 18, 2023, at 7:45am.
The Disaster Preference is available to Vermont families who are displaced due to fire, flood, natural disaster, or condemnation by a local, State or Federal Agency.
Applications may be completed through Affordablehousing.com, a partner of Vermont State Housing Authority, by visiting https://vermont.affordablehousing.com/. Paper applications may also be obtained by calling (888) 406-4003 or at our office located at One Prospect Street, Montpelier, VT between the hours of 7:45am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday.
If you are currently on the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program waiting list and need to update your application to reflect your eligibility for this preference, please visit https://vermont.affordablehousing.com/ or contact Affordablehousing.com at (888) 406-4003.
The Notice is being provided in accordance with VSHA’s Administrative Plan for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, which mandates the Authority provide public notice when opening its waiting list.
