Non-VSHA Clients Displaced by Hurricane Irene:
- September 7, 2011 -- Vermont State Housing Authority hopes to provide Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers to households displaced from their homes by Hurricane Irene. VSHA is pursuing waivers through the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), to provide Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher assistance to income eligible families displaced as a result of Hurricane Irene. In anticipation of HUD’s approval, we are taking applications from families who wish to apply. Beginning this week, VSHA staff is on the ground at the three disaster recovery centers (located in Barre, Brattleboro and Waterbury) disseminating information and taking applications.
